Do you need to "shift"?
I began my teaching career as a middle school math teacher in the Texas high-stakes testing environment. I learned to “teach to the test” using a mostly procedural (traditional) approach to math.
However, in the fall of 2021 I will be teaching math in the inquiry-based IB framework for the first time. Needless to say, I need to make the “shift”.
This site is dedicated to sharing my experience with teachers who need/want to learn how to teach math for conceptual understanding.
